String together beads to create a fun piece of jewellery!
Required Supplies
• Variety of beads (different shapes and colours)
• Stretchy String
• Scissors
• Beading mat or plate
• Optional: wire beading needles

Activity Instructions
1. Allow participants to choose their desired colour and shape of beads to place on their beading mat.
2. Cut stretchy string to the length of their wrist or neck depending on whether or not they would like to make a bracelet or necklace. And double the length of desired length.
3. Cut string.
4. Push string through the head of the wire beading needle until both ends meet.
5. Hold the loose ends of the string and string a bead through, making a knot so that the bead is secured at one end of the bracelet string and the needle is at the other. This will insure that beads are not falling off.
6. Add beads using the wire needle until desired length.
7. To tie off the beads, take wire needle and push it through the secured bead.
8. Tie a double knot and cut string.
Keep wire needle for future use.
