Preparation Steps

• Create a box of birthday items to use for upcoming celebrations including decorations and cards

• Be mindful of upcoming birthdays and write them down so that they are not forgotten

Activity Instructions

1. On the day of the birthday, decorate the door of the partcipant with the birthday banner.

2. Place wearable birthday decor on participant if they desire.

3. Sing ‘Happy Birthday!’

4. Celebrate with a cupcake or small cake for the participant to enjoy.

Activity Instruction Adaptations

• It’s important to celebrate milestones such as birthdays. Sometimes partcipants will want a small celebration, and other times, the partcipant may want something bigger! 

• Sometimes participants may not have friends or family who are available or able to come in to celebrate, so make them feel loved and special on their day!
