Required Supplies

• Acrylic paints in various colours

• Paper plates

• Table

• Table cloth

• Aprons

• Paint brushes

• Various household objects that have textures: a tooth brush, a fruit basket, a waterbottle, a straw, a mini mop, a piece of yarn

• Cardstock paper

Preparation Steps

• Gather household items for painting. Almost any household item would work to create a unique pattern

• Lay tablecloth on table 

Activity Instructions

1. Gather participants around the table.

2. Pass out cardstock paper and paper plates. 

3. Have participants choose their desired paint colour(s).

4. Show each tool and demontrate how participants might use the tool to create a pattern on their paper.

5. Use tools to paint.

6. And wash tools between use so that it can be used again.

 

Activity Instruction Adaptations

• Partcipants can be multiple paintings in different colours.

• If partcipants do not want to keep their creations, they can be put together to make a colourful collage.
