Activity Instructions

1. Print photos if they are digital. Photos can be printed on photo paper or in coloured ink on card stock.

2. Lay out the photos in front of the participant and allow participant to share about the photograph. If needed, prompts can be used:

• Where was the photo taken?

• Who is in the photo?

• What does this photo remind you of?

3. Ask participant to make a caption for the photos or create one based on what the participant has shared.

4. Use the scrapbooking materials to get creative with the design and enjoy the process of putting it together!

5. When the book is complete, place the scrapbook in the participant’s room to be used as a reminder and redirection during confusion, sadness or loneliness.

Activity Instruction Adaptations

• If the participant is unlikely to remember the names or places in the photos, ask family/friends to send a description with the photo.

• This is a great 1:1 program. Especially when participants are missing their family/friends dearly.
