Find a quiet space to ask the questions and avoid distractions.
Activity Instructions
1. Allow the person to share their story instead of conducting an ‘interview’.
Sample questions:
• When is your birthday?
• Do you speak any languages?
• Where did you grow up?
• Cats or dogs?
• Tea or coffee?
• What kind of music do you enjoy listening to? Songs?
• What was your previous occupation?
• What is your most memorable vacation?
• Tell me about your family *list family members
• What are some of your past hobbies?
• What are some of your current interests?
• What are your pet peeves?
• Tell me one thing that I wouldn’t know otherwise.
Activity Instruction Adaptations
• If there is difficulty remembering or answering the questions, ask family or friends to help to fill out the answers.
• Program can be led by a volunteer as they are friendly visiting.
