Hymn Singing

For many people, singing hymns was/is a regular routine in everyday life- weekly or during special occasions. Facilitate a Hymn program to bring back memories and allow participants to connect spiritually.

Required Supplies

• Large print handout of lyrics

• Recording of Hymn and/or musician

Preparation Steps

Set up chairs in a semi-circle facing the musician or music player.

Activity Instructions

1. Hand out lyrics for hymns to participants. 

2. Begin singing selected hymns.

• The Old Rugged Cross

Activity Instruction Adaptations

• It is helpful to number the Hymns in the booklet so that they are easy to find. 

• Alternatively, lyrics can be projected on a screen AND handed out for those who would like a copy.
