• flat rocks of various sizes

• acrylic paint

• fine paint brushes 

• table cloth

• printed designs and patterns for inspiration

• plastic plates

Preparation Steps

• Paint sample rocks to give participants an idea of what the rocks might look like when complete. I personally like a simple ladybug or bumblebee design with a border around the rock.

• Lay down tablecloth.

Activity Instructions

1. Allow participants to pick a rock of their choosing. 

2. Hand out examples of designs and patterns to encourage creativity.

3. Pass out aprons to ensure a no mess clean up.

4. Use the plastic plates for paints and hand out paint brushes.

5. Get creative and have participants paint the rocks to their liking.

6. Place them in the garden bed or on window sills for a splash of colour and cheer!
