Preparation Steps

• Purchase wood kits

• Lay out table cloth and newspaper for easy clean up after activity

Activity Instructions

1. Ask participant to put on apron, gloves and visor.

2. Using the sand paper, sand down the back, front and sides of the wooden pieces.

3. Next, have participant choose a stain or paint for cover the wood. 

4. For staining, pour stain onto the rag cloth and wipe it onto the wood. Multiple coats of stain are recommended until it reaches the desired finish.

5. For paint, using a paintbrush to brush the paint on. Multiple coats of paint are recommended until it reaches the desired finish.

6. Let dry completely between coats.

7. Superglue the pieces together to build the bird house.

8. Add bird seed into the birdhouse and place outside.

9. Watch the birds who come to visit!
